Dorothy Marie (Aspel) Rex, 93, passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at Rosewood Care Center, Joliet, IL. Born October 13, 1920 to Howard J and Agnes (Jungles) Aspel. Married Fred W. Rex on April 19, 1941 at St. Dennis Church, where she was an active lifelong member. Dorothy was a homemaker and also worked many years as the "tooth fairy", delivering dental work in the Lockport/Joliet area for Ottawa Dental Lab. She also worked at White Fence Farm for 17 years. Dorothy had a special talent for sewing clothes for her daughters and their dolls. She was dedicated to her family and would often travel to her children's homes to help out. She was preceded in death by her husband (October 7, 1988), parents, daughter-in-law Carolyn Rex, and many dear friends. Survived by her children: Ronald (Faith) of Honolulu, HI, Barbara (Joe) Bexson of Gardner, Laurine (Gregg) Knox of Belvidere, Phyllis Rex (Fischer) and Brian Rex of Joliet, her brother Francis Aspel of Lockport. Grandchildren: Scott, Michael (Bertie) and David Rex, Brett (Megan) Knox, Alicia (Matt) Brown, Nicholas (Katie) and Kerby Fischer, Steven (Jennifer) and Matthew Rex, 4 step-grandsons: Michael, David (Angie), Jeff (Joy) and Joe (Amy) Bexson, 10 great-grandchildren and 9 step-great-grandchildren. A special Thank you to Joliet Area Community Hospice and Rosewood Care Center. Family will receive friends at Goodale Memorial Chapel, 912 S. Hamilton Street, Lockport, IL 60441 on Saturday, October 26th, 2013 from 9:30 AM until time of Funeral service at 11:00 AM. Interment Resurrection Cemetery, Romeoville, IL.
