Roseann Churchill (nee Vanthournout), Age 66, a resident of New Lenox, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2018.
Born December 12, 1951, in St. Charles, Roseann grew up as the youngest child of Albert and Martha Vanthournout (DePoortre). She graduated from Copley School of Nursing in 1972 and continued into a career in nursing that she loved and practiced throughout her life, working in settings from Silver Cross Hospital to New Lenox School District 122 to a variety of home health agencies throughout the Chicagoland area. Roseann's passion was caring for her patients.
On May 28, 1978, she married her beloved husband John Churchill, and they raised their family in New Lenox. Throughout her life, Roseann worked to love others in all circumstances, and her great joy was caring for others. She cherished her family and friends.
Roseann is survived by her husband; her daughters Andrea (Jason) Zelensky and Sara (Steven) Ingmire; dear grandsons Brandon, Evan, and Zachary Ingmire, and Alexander Zelensky; siblings Albert Vanthournout, David Vanthournout, and Joann (Bill) Schuppenhauer; also survived by her sister-in-law Marilyn Vanthournout, brother-in-law Bill Menees, and many nieces and nephews. Roseann was preceded in death by her parents as well as siblings Gerald Vanthournout and Diane Menees. The family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Rd., New Lenox, IL 60451 on Thursday, April 5, 2018, from 3:00 to 8:00 PM. Memorial service Friday, April 6, 2018, with chapel prayers at 9:30 AM to St. Jude Catholic Church, 241 W. 2nd Ave., New Lenox, IL 60451 for a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial. Interment private.
