PASTOR JAMES E. BEARD JR.

Age 83, passed away Saturday, March 1st, 2025 at Cedarhurst of Frankfort. 

Jim is survived by his loving family, daughter, Debbie (Kurt) Berg, sister, Barbara (Calvin) Howlett, grandchildren, Breanna (Nicholas) Eno, Kaylin (Jason) Putman, Erika Berg, great grandchildren, Presley Putman and Bentley Putman. 

 Jim was preceded in death by his parents, James E. & Virginia Beard Sr. (Black) and wife Patricia Beard (Woods). 

Jim met his sweetheart Pat in the church youth group and they were married for 64 years; together they served in the ministry for 60 years. He earned his Bachelors degree from California Baptist College and Masters of Divinity from Talbot School of Theology in Indiana. Jim was a Baptist Minister for 62 years with the Baptist General Conference. He served in various churches throughout California, Illinois, Michigan, Missouri, Iowa, Minnesota and Arkansas. Jim was a sports enthusiast; especially football, being a devoted Chicago Bears and USC Trojan fan. 

 Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL 60423 on Saturday, March 8th, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations to Samaritans Purse www.samaritanspurse.org would be greatly appreciated.
