It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patricia A. DeFacci, lovingly known as Pat, who departed this life on April 11, 2025, in New Lenox, Illinois. Born on July 25, 1937, in Chicago, Illinois, Pat’s journey was one filled with love, warmth, and an unwavering spirit that touched the lives of everyone around her.

Pat's dedication and commitment to her work were evident during her remarkable tenure of over 30 years as a Food Services Manager at Silver Lake Country Club in Orland Park. She poured her heart into her profession, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and patrons alike. Her proudest accomplishments extended beyond her career; she faced the challenges of being a young widow, expertly raising five children on her own while nurturing a loving home that became a sanctuary for family and friends alike.

Pat had a unique ability to bring people together, and her Christmas Eves were legendary, filled with joy and celebration as her cherished family gathered around her. She was known for throwing the most memorable Christmas parties, a testament to her love for festivities and family. Her inviting personality made her a second mother to many, as she welcomed all with open arms and a warm smile.

Family meant everything to Pat. She treasured vacationing with her loved ones and never hesitated to embark on an adventure when asked. Her Palm Drive patio became an oasis where memories were made, and laughter echoed, particularly over a cold Bud Light and delicious meals shared al fresco. She had a feisty spirit, a love for the Chicago Bears, a knack for baking treats to delight her family and friends, and a talent for knitting beautiful slippers and afghans that symbolize her love and care, stitched into every creation. She is famous for taking numerous picutures of all her cherished memories and then posting them on Facebook.

Pat took immense pride in her role as a grandmother and Gigi to her great-grandchildren, relishing every moment spent with them and creating lasting bonds that will surely echo through generations. She leaves behind her sisters, Barb Natalizio and Marge Larke. Her beloved children: Mary Anne Mulder (Frank), Robert DeFacci (Marsha), Patricia Mulder (David), Thomas DeFacci (Bobbie), Susan Donato. Grandchildren: Ryan Freger, Nicole Hostert (Steve), Lauren Mulder (Tony), Frank Mulder III, David Mulder Jr, Thomas DeFacci Jr (Danielle), Nico Donato, Kyle Donato. Great grandchildren Abigail, Emma, and Everly Hostert, James DeFacci, and Elijah Castillo each of whom carries forward her legacies of love, hospitality, and resilience.

Though she is now reunited in spirit with her husband Edilio P. DeFacci, her parents Clarence and Ann Dougherty, and her grandson Joseph DeFacci, Pat's vibrant essence will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends. Her memory will be cherished, her impact felt, and her love, a guiding force for all who had the privilege to know her.

Pat’s legacy of kindness, strength, and unwavering love will continue to inspire, and her laughter will forever resonate in the gatherings that she so adored. We celebrate her life, her spirit, and the countless memories that will keep her alive in our hearts, making them feel warm and welcoming just as she always did.
