Patricia Louise Wren, 81, passed away peacefully at home on February 9, 2025.
She was born to Verne and Wilma Hamilton. Patricia, known by “Pat” to friends and family, was a woman who spent most of her life making sure that her home was a safe place and where love abounded. During her early life she moved very frequently while her father looked for work and economical housing. She could often be found with her mother and siblings in the kitchen, cooking meals and providing a warm environment for all. In her twenties, Pat wed the love of her life Everett, to whom she was married for 53 years.
Pat was a constant in their church community, where she was greatly appreciated for the many roles of service she took on in childrens’ ministries and events, and was famous for her delicious cakes and pies. At home, she loved to make cards on her computer for anyone and everyone, to ensure they knew they were being thought of and remembered. Christmas time revealed her as a true baker at heart, when she would make multiple types of candy and cookies by the dozens and give trays of yummy goodness to everyone from friends to pharmacists.
At the core of Pat’s spirit was a deep care for others, usually shown through uplifting words or providing a meal. Her encouragement and praise, as well as her many kind gestures will always be remembered by the people who shared her life and by those with whom she crossed paths. God decided it was finally time to bring her home and we have no doubt that she is walking with Him today, telling Him all about how wonderful her grandchildren are.
She is survived by her husband Everett, daughter Michelle, daughter Cindy (Tom) Sanderson, and their children Chase and Tegan. Also surviving are her sisters Loretta (David) May, Wanda (Clint) Mullins, Karen (Frank) Hembree, and sister-in-law Cheryl, all of Kansas, as well as multiple nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her younger brother William "Bill" Hamilton and her parents.
No public visitation or service is planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Lightways Hospice of Joliet. https://lightways.org/make-a-donation/
