Patrick Michael Power Sr.

Patrick Power left this earth on February 12, 2016 at the age 84. He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Dorothy Mae Compton Power. He had been blessed by his children, Nanci Artwohl (Paul), Kate Austin (Gordon), Dotti Hurrle (Don), Diane Reynolds, Patrick Power Jr. (Nancy), and Michael Power (Vasso). Pat was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, a man of conviction and very strong in his faith as a proud parishioner / participant at St. Stephen Catholic Church. He worked for the Illinois Central Railroad and retired after 47 years of dedicated service. He was additionally blessed to have been given from God 14 grandchildren, Kerri Bustios (Michael), Anni Vickery (Adam), Kelli Milliken (Collin), Matt Kniaz, Scott Kniaz (Lindsay), Daniel Kniaz (Juanita), Erin Balmert (Nolan), Lauren Amunson (Chad), and Megan Heidt (T.J.), Megan Reynolds, Emily Power, Patrick Power, Anna Power, Ashley Austin. Patrick was also the proud great grandfather of Paul Bustios, Scarlett Bustios, Remington Vickery, Henry Milliken, Ella Milliken, Francis Kniaz, Charlotte Kniaz, Camryn Kniaz, Conor Kniaz, Jayce Kniaz, Alison Balmert and was looking forward to meeting two more currently on the way into the world. Pat was a devout family man with a fierce love for and loyalty to his wife, children & grandchildren. He never missed a birthday and made sure to honor each with a card, gift, and rousing rendition of Happy Birthday To You. He loved The Fighting Irish, The Chicago Bears, and his beloved Chicago White Sox. He will be missed in life but with us always.
