Paul John Laitar 

Age 79, of Mokena, passed away Thursday, August 15, 2024. Paul was born in La Junta, CO to the late Paul and Joan (nee Fleming) Laitar. Beloved husband of Nancy (nee Gerlich) Laitar; loving father of John (Cindy) Laitar and Laura (Bill) Choi; cherished grandfather of Bob Laitar, Bill Laitar, Katie Choi, and Ellie Choi; dear brother of Debbie (John) Latch; loved uncle, cousin, and friend of many. Paul was a retired carpenter. He was active in the Boy Scouts, serving as a leader, as well as serving in many other capacities. A beloved cook at Camp Frank S. Betz in Berrien Springs, MI, Paul also enjoyed camping, fishing, and just being outdoors. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. The family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel 102 E. Francis Rd, New Lenox, IL on Sunday, September 8, 2024 from 2:00 pm until the time of the Broken Arrow Ceremony followed by Prayer Service at 6:00 pm.
