Paul Kenneth Reynolds 75, of Gilbert Arizona, passed away Monday October 7, 2024 after a 24 year battle with Parkinson’s. Paul was born in Breese, Illinois on October 28, 1948 to Patty Edmund (nee Links). He grew up in Keysport, Illinois. In 1968 he was drafted into the U.S. Army, and was assigned to the Adjutant Generals office in Heidelberg Germany. After the service, he worked several jobs before continuing his education. Paul graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a B.S. in Business Finance. He also attended the University of Illinois Executive Graduate School of Banking (IBA) and graduated with Honors.
While at E.I.U. he met and married his loving wife of 46 years, Laura (Vinezeano) Reynolds. Shortly after graduating from E.I.U., he began his highly accomplished 20+ year banking career. Throughout the years he served on many boards both professional and civic; most notably, Director for the Federal Reserve Bank, St. Louis. He loved flying and earned his pilot’s License. He spent the majority of his career as President and CEO of First Mutual Bankcorp in Decatur Illinois. He also, really enjoyed spending time on the golf course, improving his game.
Paul is survived by his children, Robert (Lorine) Reynolds, Ken (Bethany) Hammel, Alison (Greg) Zybak, Erin (David) Bricker, Paul K (Samantha) Reynolds II. Paul was a devoted grandfather to 11 grandchildren, Ashlie, Ivan, Ethan, Reese, David, Piercen, Drew, Maverick, Mia, Levi and Paisley. He was preceded in death by his mother Patty Edmund and brother Burel Goodin.
Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL 60423 on Monday, October 21st, 2024 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Interment, Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood IL. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the Muhammad Ali Parkinson’s Center-Barrow Neurological Foundation.
