Raymond Schmidt

Age 91, passed away on October 20, 2021. Cherished husband of the late Norma “Jean” Schmidt. Father of Diana (Justin), Mark (Susan) and Brian (Diane); Grandfather of Matthew and Nathan. Brother of the late Lenore (Late Frank) Neruda, the late Ralph (Jean) Schmidt, and Ron (Kay) Schmidt.

Raymond bravely served in the Army and had earned the rank of Sergeant and was a 9-year army vet of the Korean War. After Returning from his service, he began working for Fisher Body in Willow Springs for 30 years. Raymond loved to share his extensive knowledge of the bible with others and spreading the word of God.

2 Tim 4:7-8

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day-and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for His appearing.

The family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Rd., New Lenox, IL 60451 on Sunday, October 24th, 2021 from 3-6 PM with a Prayer Service at 5:30 PM. Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations to Maranatha International Missions Ministry, Inc. 922 Krystal Lane, New Lenox, IL 60451 would be appreciated.
