81, of New Lenox, passed away Sunday, February 16, 2020 at Silver Cross Hospital. Lee was born in Chicago to the late Melvin and Etta M. (nee McCardle) Patterson. Beloved husband of Lynne (nee Alvers) Patterson; loving father of Rick Jr., Chris (Sarah Olson) Sherri (Ryan) Cummings, Chuck (Lori) Dempsey, and the late Rick Dempsey; dear father-in-law of Mary Kay (Jim) Hrdina; cherished grandfather of Megan and Ricky Patterson, Jake and Kylie Pietranczyk, and Jackson, Nathan, and Charlie Dempsey; dear brother of the late Joe (late Grace) Patterson, the late Mel (Late Alice) Patterson, and the late Dorothy (Steve) Benda; fond brother-in-law of Melanie (John) Knaack, Ken (Kathy) Alvers, and the late Bob (Joan) Alvers; loved uncle of numerous nieces and nephews. Lee retired as a Contract Inspector from Nicor Gas after over 40 years of service. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of New Lenox. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Lee’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Disabled American Veterans would be appreciated. The family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, New Lenox on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 from 3pm – 9pm. Funeral Service Thursday, February 20, 2020 at 10:30am at United Methodist Church of New Lenox. Interment will be private
