Robert E. Whalen

Robert E. Whalen, age 89, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, October 24, 2022 with his family by his side.

Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Joyce (nee Guschke) Whalen; children, Terry (Kelly) Whalen, Mary (late Joe) Barker, Geri (Cary) Hartney, Joyce (Robert) Harper; his twelve grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Edmund and Margaret (nee Mucker) Whalen and his son Robert Whalen.

Robert was an adventurous man who, throughout his life, flew private airplanes to relic his leisure time, road motorcycles, and even competed in the Senior Olympics for professional target shooting where he won numerous gold medals. He also enjoyed golfing while living Tuscon, Az, and he was an avid Chicago Bears fan. He had a soft spot in his heart for all the dogs he had throughout his life. Most of all, Robert loved his family, and will be greatly missed.

Services for Robert will take place on Friday, October 28, 2022 with a visitation from 4pm until the time of the funeral service at 7:30pm. Interment will be held privately.
