Bob Barz age 87, born in Chicago June 1, 1925 passed away June 3, 2012 surrounded by his family. Bob is Survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Corinne "Corky" Barz who he married August 28, 1948; his four children Bill (Margaret), Tom (Lois), Rick (Pat), and Cindy Wentzlaff; ten grandchildren Bob (Annie) Barz, Melissa Mickey (David), Mike (Molly) Barz, Julie Beste (Jared), Katy Martin (Jake), Ruth Kniuksta ( Alex), Joe Wentzlaff, Amy Barz, Tim Barz, and Lisa Wentzlaff; five great grandchildren Jonathan and Abigail Barz, Aneliese and Nolan Beste, and Tyler Mickey. He is preceded in death by his siblings Walter and Joann Barz. Bob was a WWII Naval veteran having served in the So Pacific on the USS Whippet. He worked as an insurance claims manager and as an independent insurance agent. He was also a founding partner in Fin and Feather, a Canadian fishing resort. He lived in Crest Hill after residing in Country Club Hills for 46 years. He enjoyed wintering with friends in Long Key, Fl and monthly lunch meetings with 10 lifelong friends from his Chicago grammar school (Raster) and high school (Harper) days. He enjoyed all card games, was an avid fisherman and was a lifelong football and sports fan. Bob had a strong belief in the goodness of others and consequently everyone Bob met soon became a friend. He was beloved by all for his kindness, thoughtfulness and compassion. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
