Robert L. McMinn

age 87, resident of Matteson, formerly of Chicago Heights passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2015. Loving husband of June (nee Murtha) McMinn; beloved father of Karen (Tom) Landi, Janice (Stan) Young, Roberta (Phillip) Conboy and June (Ed) Anderson; cherished grandfather of Mike (Kim) Landi, Kristine (Geoff) Sobieski, Steve (Jessica) Young, Andrew Young, David Young, Katie (fiancée Chris Knudson) Conboy, Jim Conboy and Anna Conboy, Nick (Felicia Garcia) Anderson, Sara Anderson, Kevin Anderson, Dan Anderson, Kyle Chapman; proud great grandfather of Avery, Alex, Maddie and Wes; dear friend to Mike and Kim Chapman; loving brother in law of Thomas and Jeanne Murtha; and beloved uncle to Michael, Jeanne, Joan, Gail, and Laura. He leaves behind many cherished relatives and friends. Bob was a veteran of the U.S Navy serving in WW II and the Korean Conflict. For more than 30 years, he was the administrator of the Pipe Fitters Welfare and Retirement Funds Local 597; faithful and proud member of the Knights of Columbus for over 50 years, most recently at St. George Catholic Church in Tinley Park. Family will receive friends on Sunday, October 4, 2015 at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort IL 60423 from 2:00PM until 8:00PM. Funeral services on Monday, October 5, 2015, prayers in the funeral home chapel at 9:30AM leaving for St. Anthony Catholic Church, Frankfort for a 10:00AM Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with military honors will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to American Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
