ROBERT P. DIERSEN

Age 73, of New Lenox, passed away on Sunday, April 9th, 2023 at the Illinois Veteran’s Home in Manteno.

Robert is survived by his loving family, wife, Carol Diersen (Smiley), children, Lisa (Larry) Kociolek, Lauren Diersen, grandchildren, Grayson Kociolek, Landon Kociolek, Sadie Kociolek, John Kristin, Finley Kristin, niece and nephews, Edward Diersen, Zack Tulbert and Jamie Tulbert.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Roland & Muriel Diersen (Dixon), siblings, Edward Diersen and Laurene Tulbert.

Robert was a United States Navy Veteran and former active member of Hope Lutheran Church in Park Forest, Zion Lutheran Church in Matteson and current member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Richton Park. He greatly enjoyed gardening, music and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. Robert was a handyman who enjoyed household projects and spending time with his grandchildren; when his children were younger, he was a devoted volunteer for their sporting activities.

Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL 60423 on Friday, April 21st, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and again on Saturday, April 22nd, 2023 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 4800 Sauk Trail, Richton Park, IL 60471 from 9:00 AM until time of the funeral service at 10:00 AM.
