Roger John Griggs
Age 74, entered heaven on Palm Sunday, April 5, 2020 to a joyous celebration. Beloved husband of Rosemary (nee LaMantia) of 51 years; loving father of Jason (Christine O’Donnell) Griggs, Rosemary (Marvin Greene) Griggs, Julie (Timothy Popof) Griggs, and Melissa (Trent) Scherer, and six grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents. Roger was a graduate of Brother Rice High School (1963), earned a B.S. degree from Loras College, and advanced degrees from DePaul University in Accounting and Psychology. Roger served his country as a First Lieutenant in the elite 82nd Airborne and also an Intelligence Officer from 1969-1972. Roger joined the FBI in 1978 and devoted his 24-year FBI career to fighting for justice. An avid White Sox fan, Roger enjoyed reading, learning, hiking, traveling, and was loved by many around the world.
