Royal D. McClanahan
72, late of New Lenox, passed away Sunday, May 6, 2012 at Silver Cross Hospital, Joliet. Survived by his loving family; his wife Rosann (nee Friedrich); children, Pam McClanahan and Scott (Lori) McClanahan; step-children, Mary (Ted) Tonelli, Thomas McCallen, Cynthia (Lawrence) Nicholson and Donald (Elaine) McCallen; 14 grandchildren and two great grandchildren; sisters Karon Burgess and Janice McKeethern; brothers, Gary and Kevin McClanahan; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by a son Rodney, his parents Richard and Helen (nee Storm) McClanahan and a sister Diane Lehiy. Royal was a Fireman/EMT for the Bourbonnais Fire Dept. from 1973 – 1984; and was employed by the Franciscan Sisters of the Sacred Heart for the past 42 years. Family will receive friends at the Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Rd. New Lenox, IL 60451 on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 from 3 until 8 PM. Funeral service on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at 10:00am in the funeral home chapel, Interment SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Naperville, IL.
