SHARLENE M. BARKER

Sharlene Barker was born on April 8, 1941 to Dorothy (Kath) and Ernest Froehlich in Friesland, WI. She attended Friesland Grade School for 2 years when the family moved to the homestead in the town of Scott in Cambria. She attended grades 3-8 in a one room school house at Rosedale. She attended Pardeeville High School and graduated in 1959. Sharlene was noted for accordion playing. She taught lessons and also had an accordion band. She also formed her own band known as Aunt Sharlene and the Country Cousins. She had two radio shows, (WISS in Berlin and WBEV in Beaver Dam). She made two records and one album.
Leaving to mourn her death is her husband of 35 years, Fred Barker, her three sons, Darrel (Tammy Krueger) of Cambria, WI, Darren (Lori) of Markesan, WI, Lee (Katie) of Joliet, IL and daughter, Sharla (John) of Joliet, IL. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Lindsey, Brittany, Eric, Kristina, Ryan and Erin Krueger, Callie & Aiden Barker and Logan Wojno.
Preceding her in death were her parents.
Family will receive friends Friday, February 10th, 2012 from 3:00 to 8:00 PM at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Road, New Lenox, IL 60451 and again on Saturday, February 11th, 2012 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 1500 S. Briggs Street, Lockport, IL 60441 from 9:00 AM until time of funeral service at 10:00 AM. Interment, St. Mary Cemetery, Evergreen Park, IL.
