Sharon L. Ciardullo (nee Hunt), 79, passed away peacefully at home on July 30, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. Sharon was born on August 27, 1942, to the late Richard and Rose Hunt; beloved daughter-in-law of the late Eugene and Mary Ciardullo, loving sister of the late Geraldine (John) Muchna, fond sister of Richard (Katy) Hunt; dear sister-in-law of the late Mary Ann (Richard) Nielsen, and caring aunt and friend to many.
Sharon was married for 59 years to her soulmate Eugene A. Ciardullo. Together, they raised eight beautiful children: Leslie (Thomas) Stateman, Janis (George) Schleyer, Lisa (Joseph) Leyendecker, Gino (Rhonda) Ciardullo, Janine (Ed) Delia, Jennifer (David) Williams, Nicole (Max) Petrizzi, and Janelle (Zack) Zayed.
Sharon was a cherished Grandmother (Mema) to Justin, Griffin, Scott, Brittany (Nicholas), Brooke, Ryan (Melissa), Lauren (Garry), Kevin (Breanna), Kenny, Annamarie (Matthew), Giana, Angelina, Gabriella, Carmelina, Antonio, Dominic, Anthony, Ashley (Paul), Alyse (Patrick), Gino, Santino, Angelo, Michela, Massimo, Zain, and Amira.
Devoted Great Grandmother (Mema) to Carter, Owen, Eleanor, Beau, Emmett, Dylan, Everleigh, Emersyn, Camden, Colin, Jordan, Ariella, Max, and Maggie.
Sharon was the matriarch of our family. She was the kindest, most loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who was very devoted to her family. Sharon gave up her career to become a mother to eight beautiful children. Sharon was a devoted Cubs fan and could not wait to watch her favorite player, Anthony Rizzo. She loved to play Scrabble and watch Wheel of Fortune and the Game Show Network. She was her husband’s favorite weather girl. Sharon also enjoyed spending over 30 years at Lake Thunderbird being “happy campers” with her family and their lifelong friends.
The past 10 years had been such a struggle for her, and she was such a fighter. The love of her family gave her the will to carry on for as long as she did. She truly is and will always be “Our Angel.” Sharon will be dearly missed beyond measure.
