Steven D. Rogers, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on April 13, 2025, at the age of 74. Born on April 27, 1950, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Steven lived a life marked by dedication and love, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him.
A proud Navy veteran, Steven served in Vietnam, embodying the valor and commitment that so many admire in their service members. His military experience shaped his character, instilling in him a sense of duty, honor, and compassion that he carried throughout his life.
Professionally, Steven was an accomplished engineer at Nabisco, where he applied his skills and expertise with passion and integrity. His colleagues admired him not only for his work ethic but also for his ability to inspire those around him.
Steven’s deep love for antique cars reflected his appreciation for craftsmanship and history. This passion became a source of joy for him and those fortunate enough to share in his enthusiasm.
Family was at the core of Steven's life. He is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca Nichols; his daughter, Jacinda Rogers; and his stepdaughter Elizabeth Hendrickson and son-in-law Brian Hendrickson. Steven was a cherished grandfather to Ryan, Lily, and Abby, who brought him immense joy and pride. In addition, he is survived by his brothers, Pat (Sheryl) Rogers and Brian (Glenda) Rogers, along with cherished nieces and nephews: Jeff, Dale, Kelly, Heather, and Kevin.
Steven was preceded in death by his parents, Marian and ED Rogers, and his sister, Michelle Rogers. Their memory lived on in his heart, shaping the man he was and the legacy he leaves behind.
His family invites all who knew him to join them in celebrating his life during a memorial gathering on May 2, 2025, at Kurtz Memorial Chapel Ltd in New Lenox, Illinois, starting at 3:00 PM, followed by more remembrances starting at 7:00 PM.
Steven D. Rogers will always be remembered for his warmth, humor, and unwavering support of those he loved. Though he may have left this world, his spirit will continue to inspire and resonate within the hearts of his family and friends.
