Thomas J. Nykiel IV, age 48, passed away on Tuesday, June 28th, 2022 at Humbolt Park Health in Chicago.
Thomas is survived by his loving sisters, Jaclyn Berry, Joni Van Alstine, and Rebecca (Joseph) Bruckner; his nieces and nephews, Sean (Brianne) Berry, Alec (Amelia) Berry, Kyle Berry, Nate Ellis, Hailey Van Alstine, Joey Bruckner, Jack Bruckner, and Juliette Bruckner; great-nephew Lennox Berry; and his loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Connie (nee Corso) Nykiel, and his grandparents.
Thomas will be remembered for his passion for music. He had a love for Indie Rock and played in two bands. He was well versed with numerous instruments, but he loved playing the drums the most. He enjoyed watching many independent films. He was strong in his political views as a democrat. He was an animal lover in his later years and adopted his beloved cat, Blingus. His career was centered around his secondary passion, which was information technology. He was a kind, open-hearted man and will be missed by all that knew him.
Services for Thomas will begin on Monday, July 4th, 2022 with a visitation from 12pm-4pm. Services will continue the following day with a visitation from 9:30am-10:30am. A Mass will be held at Saint Anthony’s Catholic Church, 7659 W. Sauk Trail, Frankfort, IL at 11am on Tuesday.
