Vivian Helen Mitcheff

Vivian Helen Mitcheff, nee Shanks, age 83 of Elwood, IL, at rest on Saturday, April 4, 2020. Beloved wife of the late Phillip Mitcheff. Loving mother of Natalie (Mark) Bechtold, Darrin Mitcheff, Kevin (Bridgette) Mitcheff, and the late Phillip Jr. (Tari) Mitcheff. Loving grandmother of many dear grandchildren. Devoted daughter of the late Bruno and Genevieve Szczech (Shanks), nee Bafia. Dear sister of the late Sonny Shanks, Esther Bednarke, Carol (Andy) DiCharia, and Francis Shanks. Fond aunt and great aunt of many loving nieces and nephews. Known for her huge kind heart and her enormous love of family and friends, Vivian will be remembered for her beautiful smile, fun to be with and putting others first. She adored her family and was strong, independent, loved to cook and spend time with family. Vivian also enjoyed travelling and shopping with her daughter. She was a volunteer at Silver Cross Hospital for 10 years. She will be missed dearly, her family grieves her loss, but they take comfort in knowing that Vivian and Phil are together again. A memorial visitation will be held at Kurtz Memorial Chapel 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort IL 60423 on Saturday, August 1 2020 from 9:30 AM until 11:30 AM. Graveside service at Resurrection Cemetery, 7201 Archer Ave, Justice, IL 60458 at 1:00 PM.
