Age 75, a longtime resident of Frankfort, passed away on Friday, February 10. 2017. Loving husband of Carol (nee Franson); beloved father of Sherri (David Kandow) Bracken and Sheila (Chad) Vaughn; dearest brother of the late Edith Travis, Joyce (late Don) Norton, Faye Bowers and Doug (Ronni) Bracken; proud grandfather of Alyssa Kandow, Griffin Vaughn and Owen Vaughn; he is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and brother in law and sister in laws. Wayne was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Vietnam, First Calvary Infantry Division. He loved spending time with his family, vacationing, fishing and telling stories. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL 60423. Funeral service, Thursday, February 16, 2017 10:00AM at St. Peter's United Church of Christ 12 W. Sauk Trail, Frankfort IL 60423, lying in state 9-10AM. Interment will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to Wounded Warrior Project would be appreciated.
