William H. Smith
73, of New Lenox, passed away Friday, June 26, 2015 at Lemont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. William was born in Chicago to the late John and Irene (nee Lewis) Smith. Beloved husband of Gail (nee Schroder); loving father of Bill (Linda) and Pam (Bill Diaz) Smith; cherished grandfather of Taylor Smith, Arik Diaz and Anthony Diaz; dear brother of Al (Martha), Mike (Gloria),the late Jack (Joan), the late Jim (Barbara), the late George, and the late Anita (the late Bruno) Skowron; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. His faithful companion Maggie also survives. William was a retired Police Officer where he spent 32 years with the Cook County Sheriff's Police. He was also a proud U.S. Marine Corps Veteran. Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Road, New Lenox, IL 60451on Monday, June 29, 2015 from 3pm – 8pm. Funeral service, Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at 11:00am in the funeral home chapel. Interment private.
