William M. Hogan

Bill (Hoages) Hogan, 64, Lombard, Il passed away suddenly on June 22, 2024. Bill was born May 15,1960 to Leo and Irene (Busch) Hogan and grew up in a loving, yet chaotic household in Riverdale Il. After graduating from Thornton High School in 1978, he went on to work in the Printing Industry until he retired. 

Bill met the love of his life Barb Ferguson in 1980 and they were married in 1987. The love between them was undeniable and they were inseparable until his passing. 

They loved to travel, and their favorite destination was Maui, Hawaii and would go as often as possible. Bill loved to whale watch while there. After his trips he would share mementos like Macadamias and Coffee from his trip so that others could feel some of the joy he felt there. He loved a delicious meal, a nice wine, and friends or family. He was a genuinely caring, kind, generous person and made everyone who encountered him feel special. He positively touched the lives of so many people who will miss him immensely. Bill was always happy when he was able to attend a family event. Bill was an avid Chicago sports fan, following his favorite teams the White Sox and Bears. 

Bill had five brothers: Leo, Bob, Joe, Mike, and Matt and five sisters-in-laws: Jill, Barb, Gretchen, Kathy. Bill and Barb also had a special relationship with Barb’s sister Bonnie and their niece Kristen who was like a daughter to them. All his nieces and nephews loved him, and he loved that they used to think he was Santa Claus when they were little. Bill was predeceased by his dad and his brother Leo.

Services will be held at Kurtz Funeral Home on July 1st at 5-8:00PM and July 2nd from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Maui Food Bank at mauifoodbank.org
